Sep 16  Bike the Night (Presented by MEC) 16 yrs and under ride free. Neat to watch all the 5000 plus decorated/lit bikes on the 10 km car-free route. Ride starts at 8 pm Concord Pacific, through downtown, across Burrard Bridge, along south side of Burrard Inlet back to Concord Pacific.

Sep 24 Walk For Reconciliation, 9:30 am, 650 Cambie St (& Georgia St), Vancouver.  2 km walk to Strathcona Park, 857 Malkin Ave, where Reconciliation Expo takes place from 10:30 – 3 pm.  Walk & Expo to build bridges between indigenous people and other Canadians.

Sep 29 – Oct 1  Culture Days  Hundreds of learning experiences and events all over the Lower Mainland. Example, free admission to Bill Reid Gallery all day Oct 1 with a 2 pm Hip Hop & Coast Salish Art activities for the whole family.

Sep 30  Water’s Edge Day, Maritime Museum, 10 am – 4 pm.  Free admission to Maritime Museum; paddle in kayaks, dragon boats, and canoes; live entertainment, and much more!

Sep 30  Moon Festival 4 – 9 pm, Starts at Slocan Park, Vancouver.  6:45 pm Twilight Lantern Walk begins and heads to Renfrew Park. Culminates with performances against fireworks.

to Sep 26  Kids See Free Loblaw stores (eg. Superstore) are offering children aged 4 to 10  yrs a free pair of glasses with a prescription dated within the last 3 months. Children may not have already received a free pair from Loblaws within the last 365 days.

All Parks Canada sites, not provincial ones, offer free admission in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday as a nation eg. Fort Langley, Gulf of Georgia Cannery.  Note: you don’t actually need to get the pass to receive free admission.
