Apr 2-10 Vancouver Tree Week. Tree talks and walks at UBC and Q.E. Park are free. Apr 9 BCAA Member’s Day You’re in luck if you live in North Vancouver, New Westminster, or Surrey, where they have a Landmark Cinema. BCAA Members get one free admission to a matinee of their choice (12-6pm start time) at any Landmark Cinema location in B.C.! One free admission per card-carrying Member. Children with a ‘Kids Go Free’ Membership card are also allowed one free admission. A card, even a temporary one, must be presented.

Apr 16 Vancouver Vaisakhi Festival 11am-4pm Celebrate the Sikh New Year. Much smaller scale than Surrey’s Vaisakhi celebration but still big. Go on an empty stomach. Tons of free food, mostly vegetarian, along parade route except for on S.E. Marine Drive. If driving, expect to park 10 blocks away. Note: once the parade passes by, all temporary kiosks will pack up. Apr 16-17 Blossom Barge, Granville Island Market Dock 7 8:30am Sat Blossom Barge parade from Crab Park past Canada Place, Stanley Park, Science World before docking at Granville Island.
